The article is devoted to the teaching the academic discipline of «Research Seminar» in the system of training the masters of laws. The modern methodology of scientific research of the post-Soviet society of Russia has been analyzed. A brief pre-history of teaching the academic discipline of «Research Seminar» has been presented. The factors which make it difficult to conduct research seminars in the master’s program of higher educational institutions have been considered.
