Labour productivity: the main approaches to measurement under market conditions and the possibility of application in statistics at the level of the economy of the Republic

The article considered the concepts of “labour productivity” and “productivity” and established their distinguishing features. The main methods of measuring productivity, applied in Western countries were investigated. It was established that of all indicators characterizing the effectiveness of the resources involved in economic activity, the labour productivity remained the key and generalizing one in Russian theory and practice. The analysis of the prevailing approach in domestic economic science for measuring the productivity of social labour was conducted. The conditions for application in the system of statistical observations of labour productivity calculations at the level of the economy of the Donetsk People's Republic were formulated.
